Whacked Out Monday
So Daddy-O was severely under the weather today and I had to take part of the afternoon off work at the new day job, but Redbird had a pretty darn good day and some of that would not have happened if I hadn't left early. Back tracking a bit...the recipient of the custom floral cloche has commissioned several (say 12-15) flower pins for a PTA event. Yeah! Even more...a PTO member at my Girls' school has invited Redbird to be a vendor at the new Ladies Auxiliary Quarter Auctions that will be starting in February. Hot damn!!! It was not such a God-aweful rotten day after all, well not for Mama anyhow. Daddy-O is another story.

One More Order Complete
What a busy weekend! Saturday morning was all about Girl1's volleyball game - they won 2 out of 3. Then it was errands, errands, and more errands - the bakery, bank, and yarn shop. I love finding great deals on yarn!!! Girl1 was quite amazed at the vast quantities and varieties of yarns available. She now wants me to teach her to crochet. Guess we'll squeeze that into the schedule somewhere.
I did manage to complete this cute Red Flower Cloche for a custom order. I really like how it turned out.

Finally Friday!
Whew! What a week it has been. I am NOT complaining though. It's just that after two short workweeks and two long weekends, five full workdays felt like ten. OY!
On the up side, my fabulous co-worker women are loving my crochet items. This week I took in more than $100 in orders. Yes, I'll be going to the yarn shop tomorrow ;-) I need to get more supplies for floral cloches and button cowls. Speaking of buttons, I finally found a decent hook-up (pardon the pun), for button. I placed my first ordered with ButtonDrawer on Wednesday. I received notification that it shipped today. I'm really hoping that they are as fabulous IRL as they were on the screen. Thinking of buttons and such, St. Theresa's will only be around for a couple of more weeks. It's so sad to see one of your favorite stores fall victim to the economy. If you can, get over to wish them well and get some goods while you still can. Last day for the store is January 31.
And now I'm off to work on those customs....

New Year Happenins'
As the new year is heavily upon us, I find myself in a whirl of change. I started a job (outside of the home) in early December. My crochet items are really starting to sell like hotcakes - first my upcycled totes to teachers at my daughters' school , now to my new co-workers. Is it possible that now that I'm working this small dream of craftiness will come to fruit? Today I ordered more than a dozen great big beautiful buttons for the cowls that I'm crafting. I really need to post pictures of these!
And the kids...Girls 1, 2, and 3 are getting so big, and the boy! Oh my! He stuns me on a regular basis. All G3 could talk this evening was "Mike". Apparently, Daddy-O took them to visit Mike (from The Tillers) today. I think G3 is in LOVE!
Daddy-O's band is getting good press too...you can catch them this weekend at Southgate House with The Tillers. It's sure to be a night to remember!
Watch for more exciting happenings as time goes by...
